Setting the Scene...
In the final game prior to the Christmas holiday, the Duke women's basketball team (6-3) will travel across the country to take on 11th-ranked Oregon State (8-2) Thursday, Dec. 20 at 10 p.m. (ET) at Gill Coliseum. The game will be broadcasted live on the Pac-12 Network with Anne Marie Anderson (PXP) and Tammy Blackburn (Color) calling the action. It will also be carried on the Blue Devil IMG Sports Network via 620 AM, 99.3 FM, 96.5 FM, www.GoDuke.com, TuneIn app and www.GoDuke.com with Chris Edwards (PXP) on the air beginning at 9:45 p.m. (ET).
What is Next?...
Duke will be off for the Christmas holiday and then host back-to-back home games against East Carolina (Dec. 28) and Florida Gulf Coast (Dec. 30) in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Three Keys...
• Leaonna Odom has posted four double-doubles in nine games to open the season. Her four double-doubles ranks tied fourth in the ACC. Odom's four double-doubles through nine games is tied for the second most at Duke since 1998 -- Azura Stevens (5 in 2015-16) and Rebecca Greenwell (4 in 2013-14).
• Duke has held its last three opponents (Wisconsin - 53; Marist - 56; UNLV - 38) to season low points. The Blue Devil defense has held those opponents to only 49.0 points, 33.5 percent shooting, 25.0 percent from downtown and only 29.0 rebounds a game.
• The Blue Devils will play for the first time in 14 days as the Dec. 9 contest against South Carolina was cancelled due to inclement weather. The last game was Dec. 6 against UNLV. Following the OSU game, Duke will have a seven-day break until the East Carolina game. The Blue Devils will play one game over a span of 21 days.
Storylines/Other Blue Devil Notes...
• Duke is 2-2 over the last four games on the road against ranked opponents, including a 66-40 win at Georgia on March 19, 2018.
• Onome Akinbode-James is one of seven freshmen in the ACC to notch double-doubles. She is one of only seven freshmen in the Power Five to have a 14-point and 14-rebound game this season. She is one of only two to accomplish this on the road against a Power Five Conference team.
• Duke is one of only two ACC teams to feature at least two players averaging 15.0+ points and 5.5+ rebounds (Notre Dame). The Blue Devils have not had two or more players end the season with these numbers since 1996-97 season (Kira Orr/Tyish Hall). This is the only time two Duke players ended the season with these numbers.
• Haley Gorecki is tied for fifth in the ACC with four games with 19 or more points.
• Duke and Georgia Tech are the only two teams in the league to have four different freshmen who have scored 11 or more points in a game this season.
• Leaonna Odom ranks ninth in the ACC in field goal percentage with a 56.9 percentage, while her 8.2 rebounds ranks 11th.
• Redshirt junior Haley Gorecki and freshman Miela Goodchild have combined to drain 38 three-pointers on the season.
• The Blue Devils had a season-high 13 steals against Marist and have notched 10 or more steals in six of nine games. Duke ranks fifth in the ACC with a 10.3 steals per game average.
• Duke has won 18 straight contests in the month of December in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
• Leaonna Odom is one of five players in the ACC averaging at least 15.5 points and 8.0 rebounds.
• For the only time this season, Duke will face an opponent that features a height advantage on the Blue Devils. Oregon State has a 73.75 average height with eight players standing 6-0 or taller. Duke owns a 73.2 average height with 10 players 6-0 or taller.
• The Blue Devils have won 34 out of its last 36 home contests in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
• Rayah Craig opened her Duke career with 13 points as she scored 11-of-her-13 in the second half at Northwestern. It marked the third-most points scored by a rookie in her debut under Coach P at Duke -- Rebecca Greenwell 17 on Nov. 16, 2014, Alexis Rogers 14 on Nov. 13, 2009).
• The 2018-19 Duke team is tied for the second youngest Duke team based on percentage of freshman and sophomores (69.23%). The 2011-12 was 75.0 percent freshmen and sophomores to lead the way. The nine freshmen and sophomores are tied for the most under Coach P at Duke (2015-16 and 2011-12).
• Duke was one of the best teams in the nation a year ago in opponent paint scoring holding teams to only 19.97 points a game. This ranked as the second-lowest for the Blue Devils over the last seven years (19.06 in 2014-15).
• In terms of the youth of the ACC, Duke's 69.23 percent of freshmen and sophomores is the fourth-highest -- Georgia Tech (76.92), Boston College (75.0) and Florida State (72.73).
• Duke returns just 39.7 percent of its scoring from the 2017-18 season. It is the lowest returning scoring percentage since the conclusion of the 2013-14 season. The Blue Devils lost 43.7 points and 60.3 percent of scoring. It is the most since the 2013-14 season, which Duke lost 66.9 percent of its scoring.
• Duke graduated two of the best scorer's in Blue Devil history – Rebecca Greenwell (1,874 points) and Lexie Brown (1,263 points in two years). They were one of the most dynamic scoring duos in the nation the last two years and Duke will have a much different look in 2018-19 without those guards.
• All 29 of Duke's 2018-19 contests will be aired on some type of television between ESPN+, ACC Network Extra, ESPN2, RSN-TV, PAC 12 Network and Big Ten Network.

A Look at Oregon State...
Oregon State enters the contest with an 8-2 record and is coming off suffering a 76-70 loss to Texas A&M in Hawaii on Dec. 15. Destiny Slocum (14.4 points, 2.7 rebounds), Mikayla Pivec (13.3 points, 9.2 rebounds), Kat Tudor (12.4 points, 4.0 rebounds) and Katie McWilliams (10.0 points, 2.9 rebounds) have paced the Beavers on the season. Oregon State is averaging 10.1 three-pointers made on the season.
The Series with Oregon State...
For the first time in program history, Duke will travel to Corvallis, Ore., for a road contest against the Beavers. Duke and Oregon State went head-to-head last year in Durham in what was the first match-up between the two. The Blue Devils came out on top in the debut series game, 72-65. This will also be Coach P's second time facing the Beavers.
Duke Versus the Pac-12 Conference...
Duke features a 15-10 record in games against Pac-12 Conference opponents – Arizona State (1-0), California (2-1), Colorado (0-1), Oregon (0-1), Oregon State (1-0), USC (6-0), Stanford (2-3), UCLA (2-1), Utah (1-0), and Washington (0-3).
Coach P has amassed a 13-7 record against teams of the Pac-12 and an 8-4 record while at Duke. Duke faced Washington earlier this season and dropped a 71-64 decision.
Boykin Impressive in Season Debut...
Duke redshirt freshman Mikayla Boykin made her 2018-19 debut UNLV and was very impressive with 11 points, six assists, a career-high five steals and four rebounds in 20 minutes. Boykin started the third quarter and sparked the Blue Devils to an impressive second half outscoring the Lady Rebels, 41-21. Her debut came 361 days since she tore her ACL Dec. 10, 2017 against Winthrop.
Boykin received a medical redshirt for this past season and will have four years of eligibility remaining.
Big Down the Stretch...
Redshirt junior Haley Gorecki has scored 50 of her 149 points in the fourth quarter this season. She tallied 10 points against Washington, Missouri and Wisconsin. In those three games, Gorecki scored 30 of Duke's 60 points. Leaonna Odom has scored 40 of her 143 points in the fourth quarter as well, while hitting 61.5 percent of her field goals. Overall, Odom and Gorecki have scored 90 of Duke's 164 fourth quarter points in the fourth quarter.
On the Road...
Duke owns a 2-1 record in games played on the road this season, including two straight wins. Haley Gorecki owns averages of 15.0 points, 5.0 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 3.3 steals.
Leaonna Odom has averaged 14.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.0 blocks on the road. She has hit 62.5 percent from the field, including 14-of-20 over the last two contests. As a team, Duke has averaged 61.3 points, while allowing 66.7 points. The last two games, the Blue Devils have allowed only 53 points to Wisconsin and 63 points to Maine.
In the NCAA Stats...
Duke currently ranks 45th nationally with a 45.0 field goal percentage and 53rd with a 10.3 steals per game average. Haley Gorecki ranks 32nd in steals per game (3.0), 63rd in minutes played per game (35.3) and 31st in steals (27). Leaonna Odom ranks 40th in double-doubles (4) and 37th in field goal percentage (56.9).
Oregon State ranks fourth in rebound margin (15.2), fifth in three-point field goal percentage (42.8), seventh in scoring margin (26.7), seventh in field goal percentage (50.6) and eighth in three-point field goals made (101).
