DURHAM – The Duke wrestling program (6-7, 0-2 ACC) dropped a dual match to No. 5 NC State (8-1, 1-0 ACC), 43-0 on Friday night in Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Facing a talented starting lineup that feature nine ranked opponents, the Blue Devils battled to several close decisions. Redshirt senior Josh Finesilver competed in a thrilling match at 149 pounds against the third-ranked wrestler in the nation, Tariq Wilson. Finesilver gave the undefeated Wilson his toughest match of the season, nearly pulling off the victory in a 4-3 decision for Wilson.

Fellow redshirt senior Kaden Russell was in another tight battle at 197 pounds against the 20th-ranked Isaac Trumble. The Cleveland, Ohio, native battled to a razor-thin 2-1 decision, battling neck-and-neck throughout the match decided by riding time.

The Blue Devils are back in action next weekend, traveling to Blacksburg, Va., for a match against No. 10 Virginia Tech on Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. The match will be broadcast on ACC Network.
