RALEIGH, N.C. – The Duke doubles tandem of
Brianna Shvets and
Katie Codd split two matches on Thursday evening to open action at the 2022 Fall Ranked Spotlight held at NC State University. Â
The Blue Devil duo dropped a 6-1 decision to Cat Aulia and Lauren Anzalotta to kick off play on Thursday afternoon, but responded with a 6-4 victory over Elise Mills and Ana Cruz of South Carolina. It marked the first time Shvets and Codd have played a competitive doubles match together. Â
Shvets and Codd will next take on East Tennessee State's Laylo Bakhodirova and Fernanda Carvajal on Sunday at 9 a.m., at Cary Tennis Park. Â
Duke will resume action on Friday morning with singles at the Cary Tennis Park. Sixth-ranked
Cameron Morra will face 69th-ranked Domenika Turkovic of Arizona State at 9 a.m., while 100th-ranked
Emma Jackson will take on 10th-ranked Irina Cantos Siemers of Ohio State also at 9 a.m. Codd will take the court in singles versus Jeanette Mireles of Texas A&M at 11 a.m. Â
