NEED TO KNOW
•    No. 4 Duke (1-1-0) closes a three-game homestand Sunday, Aug. 27 as the Blue Devils host Wisconsin (1-0-2) at 12 p.m., inside Koskinen Stadium. Duke will be signing autographs postgame.  
•    Sunday's match versus Wisconsin will be aired live on ACC Network with Ariya Massoudi  (PXP) and Kacey White (Analyst) calling the action.
•    Sunday's match will be part of a doubleheader with the Duke men's soccer team and if you buy a ticket to either match you will get in free to the other contest.  
•    Coming off three straight NCAA Tournament quarterfinal appearances, Duke returns five starters -- 
Maggie Graham, 
Katie Groff, 
Olivia Migli, 
Kat Rader and 
Emily Royson -- and 15 letterwinners off its 15-5-3 squad from 2022.
•    Duke welcomes the No. 6 overall recruiting class with eight freshmen and three transfers.  In the final TopDrawerSoccer.com (TDS) class of 2023 rankings, the Blue Devils featured four players in the top-40 of the ledger – 
Cameron Roller (5), 
Mia Minestrella (13), 
Kiera Clemens (26) and 
Phoebe Goldthwaite (38).  The reigning Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year, 
Leah Freeman, from Oregon along with two-year starter 
Kati Druzina (Notre Dame) and 
Julia Saunicheva (UCLA) also transferred in.
STORYLINES/OTHER BLUE DEVIL NOTES
•    The Blue Devils face a tough Wisconsin defense that hasn't allowed a goal in three matches in 2023.
•    In her first two seasons, when 
Kat Rader scores, the Blue Devils feature a 10-1-1 ledger.  She owns a 1.32 points per game average in 25 career matches.  Rader has scored two of Duke's three goals this season and has 14 over her short career.
•    Duke registered its 450th all-time win in the season opener against West Virginia. The Blue Devils became just the 22nd program to reach 450 wins on the women's soccer side.
•    Duke has been preseason ranked No. 4 nationally in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll.
•    The Blue Devils open the season with three straight home matches at Koskinen Stadium.  Overall, Duke features nine home matches in Durham for the 2023 regular season.
•    Duke welcomes 11 newcomers to the 2023 roster as head coach 
Robbie Church enters his 23rd season with the Blue Devils.  
•    
Leah Freeman has earned a trio of preseason honors -- MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, TopDrawerSoccer Best XI First Team along with United Soccer Coaches Goalkeepers Watch List.
•    Duke features a leadership committee of its six seniors (returning players only) to start the season --

•    Senior 
Maggie Graham enters her first season at Duke without her sister, Delaney, as Delaney graduated this past year and is now enrolled in the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tenn., to start the process of being a doctor.  
•    The Blue Devils will need to replace the reigning MAC Hermann Trophy Award winner 
Michelle Cooper, after she turned professional following her sophomore season with Duke.  In two seasons, Cooper scored 31 goals, added 16 assists and posted 78 points.  She scored in 29-of-40 matches.  
THE SERIES WITH WISCONSIN
•    Duke and Wisconsin are tied 1-1-0 in the series with both contests coming at a neutral site.  
•    The last meeting came in the 2019 NCAA Tournament with the Blue Devils dropping a 1-0 match in Los Angeles, Calif.  The first meeting was in Chapel Hill, N.C., during the Carolina Classic in 1997 as the Blue Devils won 1-0.
•    Duke head coach 
Robbie Church holds a 0-1 record against the Badgers.
SCOUTING THE BADGERS
•    The Badgers feature a 1-0-2 ledger on the season and hasn't given up a goal in three matches.
•    Wisconsin is coming off a successful 2022 campaign that saw the Badgers finish 11-5-3 overall. In conference play, Wisconsin finished 6-3-1, which placed the team third in the Big Ten standings.
•    Three Badgers have been named to the Big Ten Conference's players to watch for the 2023 season. Those players are Emma Jaskaniec, Aryssa Mahrt, and Macy Monticello. In addition, UW was pegged to finish fifth in the Big Ten Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.
•    Head coach Paula Wilkins owns 299 career wins entering the match.
DUKE VS. THE BIG TEN
•    Duke currently holds a 32-23-7 record against Big Ten opponents.
A WIN WOULD...
•    Move Duke to 2-1-0 on the season and avoid a two-match losing streak.  The Blue Devils haven't featured a two-match losing streak since the 2020-21 season when falling to No. 1 North Carolina and No. 2 Florida State.  Duke hasn't dropped back-to-back non-conference matches since 2014 against Ohio State and Stanford.
•    Move the series record versus the Badgers to 2-1-0 in favor of the Blue Devils.

Taylor Evans played club soccer on Real Colorado with Wisconsin sophomore Camryn Sailor.  
RADER SCORES AGAIN...
•    For the second straight match, sophomore 
Kat Rader scored for the Blue Devils early in the first half.  
•    She tallied a goal at the 12:35 mark of the first half against Southern California and at 10:39 versus West Virginia.
•    Rader now owns two goals in two matches in 2023 and 14 goals over her 25-game career at Duke.
