BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Duke wrestling team fell on the road at Gardner-Webb, 23-15, inside Paul Porter Arena on Tuesday evening in Boiling Springs, N.C. Four Blue Devils – Connor Barket, Logan Ferrero, Gaetano Console and Jack Wimmer -- registered convincing wins on the night.

A native of West Lafayette, Ind., Barket claimed his third pinfall of the season in the second period against Gardner-Webb's Peyton McComas in the 285 bout. Barket collected his team-best 12th win of the season and second against McComas.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Junior Logan Ferrero battled hard against Tyler Brignola and came away with an impressive, 9-2, victory by a decision to score the first team points for the Blue Devils at 157.
Sophomore Gaetano Console followed Ferrero's win with a dominant performance at 165 with an 8-2 win against Andrew Wilson.
Senior Jack Wimmer made it three straight wins for the Blue Devils as he won his battle against Samuel Mora with a pair of takedowns in the third period to win, 6-3 by decision.
Barket and McComas previously met at the Southern Scuffle on Jan. 1, with Barket coming away with a 12-0 major decision. In tonight's match, Barket claimed victory with an efficient pinfall in the second period.

UP NEXT
The Blue Devils (4-7) will continue dual match action on Friday, Jan. 19 at home in Cameron Indoor Stadium against Chattanooga at 6 p.m., as Duke closes non-conference action.
