GREENSBORO, N.C. – Duke swimming and diving concluded its first day of competition at the Mid-Season Invitational hosted at the Greensboro Aquatics Center.
NOTABLES
To begin the evening slate of finals competition, Duke's 200-Freestyle Relay group of Tatum Wall, Ali Pfaff, Clare Logan, andKyAnh Truongplaced fourth with a time of 1:29.61. Their time was good enough for ninth place all-time on Duke's top performance list for the event.
In the women's 500 Freestyle, YiXuan Chang tallied a 10th-place finish, touching with a time of 4:48.59, shaving 4.32 seconds off her prelim time.
Moving to the 200 IM, Kyra Sommerstadcollected a ninth-place finish in the finals, clocking a time of 2:00.28. Fellow teammate, Martina Peroni, touched in 11th place with a time of 2:00.77.
On the men's side of the 200 IM, Kalen Anbartouched in 14th at 1:47.95. He and Andrew Licollected top 20 finishes in the finals.
Tatum Wallswam away from everyone in the 50 Freestyle, touching in first place with a time of 21.79. She dropped 0.15 seconds off her prelims time. Pfaff also registered a seventh-place finish touching with a time of 22.39.
The Blue Devils women's 400 Medley Relay, consisting of Pfaff, Kaelyn Gridley, Aleyna Ozkan, and Wall, collected a second-place finish, posting a time of 3:30.81.
Duke's men 400 Medley Relay A-Team, led by Michael Jiang, Jack Smith, Charles Morici, and Milo Shue, shaved 3.37 seconds off their preliminary time, finishing 11th with a time of 3:12.23.

Day two of the Mid-Season Invitational begins on Friday at 9:30 a.m. with prelims and concludes with final heats at 5:30 p.m.
