SETTING THE SCENE
• Duke (1-3) returns home this weekend for four dual matches. The Blue Devils first host ninth-ranked Michigan (1-0) on Friday, Nov. 22, but it will be held at Jordan High School at 7 p.m.
• The next day, the Blue Devils will host a Quad match with American (1-2), Utah Valley (1-3) and Presbyterian (0-2). The contests will take place at Seaforth High School in Pittsboro, N.C.
The schedule for the Quad Match opens at 10 a.m., on Mat One - American at Duke and on Mat Two - Presbyterian vs. Utah Valley. At 12 p.m., on Mat One Utah Valley at Duke and on Mat Two Presbyterian vs. American. To close out the day, Presbyterian will play at Duke on Mat One at 2 p.m.
THE SERIES
• Duke and Michigan will meet for the third time in program history with the Wolverines leading the series, 2-0. This will mark the first meeting in Durham as the two previous took place in Ann Arbor, Mich., in 2012 (14-30) and 2015 (7-43).
• Duke will face American for the 14th time with the Blue Devils leading the series, 7-6. In matches played in Durham, Duke is 4-1. Duke has dropped three straight in the series with the last win coming in 2015 in Durham, which was also the last meeting in Durham.
• Duke and Utah Valley will face off for the first time in school history.
• For the third time in program history, Duke is set to meet Presbyterian in a dual match. The previous two contests came in 2021 (W, 30-7) in Durham and in 2022 (W, 23-19) in Clinton, N.C. The Blue Devils enter the match with a 2-0 record in the series.

LAST TIME OUT
• The Duke wrestling team traveled to Hempstead this past weekend and came away with its first dual match victory of the season as the Blue Devils upended Sacred Heart, 23-15, at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex.
• Duke also dropped a 21-12 decision at Hofstra to open the morning, before closing the day strong. Over the course of the two matches, a trio of Blue Devils went undefeated in dual match action with a pair of wins by
Aidan Wallace,
Vincent Lee and
Connor Barket.
• In the afternoon match with Sacred Heart, junior
Ethan Grimminger picked up his first collegiate dual match victory against Mike Manta of Sacred Heart. The major decision, 17-9, win gave the Blue Devils a 4-0 lead to kick off the day at 125.
•
Christian Colman then collected an 8-1 decision against Jake Ice at 141 to put Duke ahead, 7-3. The win marked Colman's third of his career in dual match play.
• Sophomore
Peter Chacon responded with his first collegiate dual match win to give the Blue Devils an 11-3 advantage. Chacon, who is from Pittsburgh, Pa., totaled a 19-7 major decision victory over Vincent Milazzo.
• With his sixth win over his last eight matches,
Aidan Wallace gave Duke the 14-6 lead after an 8-6 decision over Mike McGhee at 165.
• Sacred Heart registered back-to-back wins to go ahead, 15-14, with two bouts remaining at 197 and heavyweight.
• Duke rookie
Vincent Lee continued his solid start to his collegiate career with a fall 50 seconds into the match with Jake Trovato to put the Blue Devils back ahead, 20-15. The win marked his fourth straight of the season.
• With his fifth consecutive victory, redshirt sophomore
Connor Barket closed the door on Sacred Heart with a 16-13 decision over Brendan Gilchrist at heavyweight.
• After dropping the first five matches against Hofstra in the morning, Duke closed the day winning five of its final six bouts but fell, 21-12.
• Wallace registered a 10-5 decision versus Kyle Mosher at 165 to start the run at the end.
• Following Wallace's victory, sophomore
David Hussey collected his first collegiate dual match win at 174 pounds with a 6-4 decision over Greyson Harris.
• Duke closed the match with back-to-back wins by Lee and Barket. Lee totaled an 8-7 decision versus Nikolas Miller and Barket came away with an 11-5 decision against Danny Church.
BARKET NETS RANKING
• Duke redshirt sophomore
Connor Barket earned a preseason No. 33 heavyweight national ranking by WrestleStat, prior to open the regular season. He moved to No. 28 following this past weekend's contests.
• Barket, a native of West Lafayette, Ind., is coming off a season where he posted a team-best 16 victories. He registered podium finishes at the Southern Scuffle and the Keystone Classic. Barket became the first redshirt freshman since the 2017-18 campaign to register at least 16 wins. He was the ACC wrestler of the week on Jan. 23, after totaling two dominating wins against Gardner-Webb and Chattanooga. Barket closed the regular season winning five out of his last seven matches.
HOT STARTS
• After failing to win a match as a rookie last year,
Peter Chacon has totaled a 6-5 ledger to open the season, including four straight wins at the Journeyman.
• Coming off a freshman season with a 1-3 ledger a season ago, sophomore
Aidan Wallace has opened the year with a team-best 10 wins. He is 4-0 in dual match play at 165. Wallace has won seven out of his last eight contests.
