GREENSBORO, N.C. – Duke swimming and diving concluded its second day of competition at the Mid-Season Invitational hosted at the Greensboro Aquatics Center on Friday.
NOTABLES
On Thursday evening, Margo O'Mearacollected a first-place finish in the three-meter dive, posting an A-Finals score of 349.85.
Freshman Keira Lutallied a fourth-place finish in the three-meter A-Finals, collecting a score of 295.65.
On the men's side of diving, Yannis Schattmanposted a second-place finish in the one-meter diving event, collecting a score of 346.30. Charles Bermanfinished in fifth with a score of 318.10 and Tynan O'Donogue posted a score of 304.35 to finish in sixth place.
On the men's side of the 200 Medley Relay, Jacob Hills, Jack Smith, Charles Morici, and Milo Shue collected a time of 1:27.35, 0.64 seconds faster than their entry time of 1:27.99.
Graduate Kyra Sommerstadand Martina Peronitallied fourth and fifth place finishes, respectively, in the 400 IM, as Sommerstad touched with a time of 4:14.26 (3.42 seconds faster than prelims) and Peroni clocked a time of 4:14.45 (2.98 seconds faster than her entry). Sommerstad's time moved her into the top 10 at Duke in the event.
Yugo Tsukikawatallied a top-10 performance in the 400 IM on Friday evening, touching with a time of 3:51.92. The time Is good for the fifth fastest in program history.
In the men's 100 Butterfly, Morici tallied a time of 47.00, moving into eighth all-time on the performance list for the Blue Devils men's squad.
In the women's 200 Freestyle, Tatum Wallcollected a time of 1:47.27 to finish fourth in the event, while Yixuan Changposted a sixth-place finish with a time of 1:47.56.
For the second time this season, Kaelyn Gridleybroke her school record in the 100 Breaststroke, touching in first with a time of 58.59. She previously improved her time against South Carolina, posting a time of 58.68.
Ali Pfaffimproved on her school record, setting a new top time in the 100 Backstroke, touching in second with a time of 51.48. Teammates Molly Donlanand Clare Logantied in the event, posting times of 54.06 for fifth place.
