DURHAM, N.C. — U.S. Soccer announced Monday its roster for the United States Under-20 Women's National Team training camp, which includes former Duke women's soccer standout
Mary Long. Long was one of 24 players selected to participate Oct. 22-30 at the University of Kansas Health System Training Center in Kansas City, Missouri.Â
Â
Long, who is currently with the Kansas City Current of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), was a vital component of the USA's bronze-medal performance at the 2024 FIFA U-17 World Cup where she played in all six matches and earned a start in five. She scored against South Korea in addition to adding an assist and drawing a penalty against Colombia during the group stage. She scored twice in a friendly against Brazil during her first national team call-up for a training camp in preparation of the U-17 World Cup in 2024.Â
Â
The latter part of the upcoming U-20 camp – from Oct. 27-29 – will be held concurrently with the senior U.S. Women's National Team's visit to Kansas City for its match against New Zealand on Oct. 29. The U.S. U-20 WNT will attend that match at CPKC Stadium. Â
Â
Players at the U-20 training camp will continue to vie for a spot on the roster for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Poland. The Stars and Stripes qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after finishing among the top four at the 2025 Concacaf U-20 Championship in Costa Rica in June. Long totaled three goals and an assist – including a brace against Puerto Rico – at the Concacaf Championship. Long also had a goal and an assist versus Costa Rica. Â
Â
Long was a member of Duke's 2024 squad that won the ACC regular season title and advanced to the NCAA College Cup. The Blue Devils logged an 18-3-1 ledger on the season with Long seeing action in 15 contests and totaling three goals.Â
