DURHAM, N.C. – The seventh-ranked Duke women's soccer team received goals from
Kat Rader and
Mia Oliaro while the Blue Devils collected their seventh shutout of the season in a 2-0 victory over Syracuse Thursday evening inside Freeman Field at Koskinen Stadium.Â

Duke improved to 10-3-1 overall and 5-3-0 in ACC action as the Blue Devils won their fourth match in a row. The Orange dropped to 5-8-4, 1-7-1. The Blue Devils have scored two or more goals in six matches in a row.Â

How It Happened
- The Blue Devils controlled the ball for 75 percent of the first half and held a 21-1 shot advantage.
- Duke had numerous chances for goals, but couldn't get anything past the goal line until the 40:13 mark.
- Syracuse had a handball in the box that led to redshirt junior Kat Rader finishing the penalty kick to give the Blue Devils a 1-0 lead.
- Senior Devin Lynch tied a career high with six shots in the first half.A total of 10 different Blue Devils attempted a shot in the first 45 minutes.
- The Blue Devils moved the score to 2-0 at the 64:41 mark as Lynch served a corner kick into the box that went off redshirt junior Elle Piper and junior Mia Oliaro punched in her second goal of the season.
- In the 76th minute, Duke goalkeeper Caroline Dysart made a great save with her right leg off a shot by Julia Arbelaez to preserve the shutout.
- The Blue Devils held a 32-6 advantage in shots for the match with Lynch and Mia Minestrella leading the way with six attempts each.
