SETTING THE SCENE
• The Duke wrestling team (5-4) travels to Norman, Okla., to face SIUE, Tarleton State and Oklahoma. All three matches will take place on Sunday, Dec. 21 in McCasland Field House.
• The Blue Devils will take on the SIUE Cougars first at 11 a.m., followed by a bout with the Texans at 1 p.m. Duke will finish with a 3 p.m. match against the hosting Sooners. All times are Eastern.

THE SERIES WITH SIUE
• Duke and SIUE will meet for the second time in program history with the Blue Devils leading the series, 1-0.
• In the lone match between the programs, Duke won 38-9 on February 2, 2013 in Davidson, N.C.

• Duke and Tarleton State will meet for the first time in program history on Sunday.

• Duke will also be facing the Oklahoma Sooners for the first time in program history.

LAST TIME OUT
• The Duke wrestling team dropped a 31-8 decision to App State Wednesday inside Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Blue Devils tallied their eight points after a 4-1 decision from freshman
Mikey Boulanger at 157 and redshirt sophomore
Aidan Wallace's 19-1 tech fall at 174.
• Starting the night at 184 pounds, App State collected wins at 184 and 197 pounds to claim an early lead.
• The heavyweight match was a battle between redshirt junior
Connor Barket and the Mountaineers' Stephan Monchery. Barket registered a takedown in the first period but was unable to hold off Monchery, dropping his first match of the season in a 6-4 decision.
• App State continued its momentum, securing wins in the following four weight classes to pull away with a 28-point lead.
• Boulanger put Duke on the board with his 4-1 decision over Jeremiah Price. The match was knotted at 1-1 until Boulanger tallied a takedown in the final two seconds to capture the victory.
• In the final match of the night, Wallace dominated the first period with a takedown and pair of four-point nearfalls. Wallace controlled the rest of the match with two additional takedowns and over two minutes of accumulated riding time to walk away with a 19-1 tech fall over App State's Colt Campbell.

Codi Russell went up against his alma mater, Appalachian State, Wednesday night. Russell is a 2021 ASU graduate and a four-time NCAA Championship qualifier and three-time Southern Conference Champion at 125 pounds.

DUKE REACHES FIVE WINS
• Duke has opened the season with a 5-4 ledger. It marks the most victories by the Blue Devils since the 2021-22 campaign when Duke totaled a 7-10 ledger.Â
• Over the last 10 years, Duke has reached five or more wins only three times -- 2025-26, 2021-22 and 2017-18.

• Of Duke's 177 points scored on the season, 87 have come from the 165, 174 and Heavyweight divisions.

Aurelius Dunbar has featured a solid start to his Duke career with a 5-2 ledger. He has collected wins against Sacred Heart, Morgan State, Mercyhurst and VMI.

• Duke will next travel to Chattanooga, Tennessee for the Southern Scuffle, which will take place Jan. 3-4. It will be hosted by UT Chattanooga.Â
