NEW YORK, N.Y. – Duke women's basketball is headed to the City of Lights as the Blue Devils are set to open the 2025-26 campaign on the international stage in the Oui-Play Paris 2025 event, as announced by Complete Sports Management Thursday afternoon. Duke will tip off the season against the Baylor Bears on Monday, Nov. 3 at Adidas Arena in Paris, France.
Duke's tilt against Baylor is one of two women's basketball Oui-Play contests taking place in the season-opening doubleheader, which also features a matchup between Vanderbilt and California. Tipoff times will be announced at a later date.
"Paris! What an incredible city. I can't wait to go back and open our 2025-26 season in Paris at the Oui-Play event," said Duke head coach
Kara Lawson. "Our team, our program and our university are so excited to be over in France and be able to showcase our team and our talent to start the season. We couldn't think of a better place, a better country or a better opportunity to get our journey started next year."
The Blue Devils and Lady Bears are slated to square off for just the second-time all-time, and the first in more than a decade. Baylor holds the 1-0 advantage in the series by way of a 51-48 triumph in the Elite Eight (March 29) of the 2010 NCAA Tournament.
Duke heads into the upcoming season fresh off an incredibly successful 2024-25 campaign that saw the team card a 29-8 overall record, capture the program's ninth Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Tournament title and advance to the Elite Eight for the 12th time. The Blue Devils, who finished the year ranked seventh nationally, return four starters and 10 letterwinners from a season ago – including All-ACC performers
Jadyn Donovan,
Toby Fournier and
Ashlon Jackson. Duke also welcomes the nation's No. 4 recruit
Emilee Skinner into the fold, as Lawson enters her sixth season at the helm.
