ATLANTA, Ga. – Duke women's basketball sophomore
Toby Fournier has been named to the 2026 Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Women's College Player of the Year Late-Season Team as announced by the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced Tuesday.
Fournier is one of 30 Division I women's basketball players selected to the list, one of 11 underclassmen and one of only three from the ACC honored. A 6-2 forward, Fournier leads the ninth-ranked Blue Devils in points (17.5), rebounds (8.0) and blocks (2.2). She is the top scoring forward in the league and ranks eighth among those from a major conference.
The lone player among major conferences to average at least 17 points, seven rebounds and two blocks per game, Fournier has scored in double figures in 23 of her 25 outings this season and owns six double-doubles. She ranks third overall in scoring in the league and is one of only five ACC players to average at least 15 points and six rebounds per game.
Fournier is a triple threat on offense for the Blue Devils as she can play with her back to the basket, drive through the lane and pull up for a three-pointer. The Toronto, Ontario native ranks fifth in the ACC in overall field goal percentage (.542) and is shooting 31 percent from distance. Her 11 three-pointers this season are five more than she had in 35 games as a freshman.
The reigning ACC Rookie of the Year and All-ACC first team pick, Fournier has excelled in ACC play, averaging 17.9 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game. At Louisville she registered 15 points and nine boards as Duke handed the sixth-ranked Cardinals their first ACC loss of the season. Most recently against North Carolina, Fournier pulled in 12 rebounds and totaled three blocks to keep Duke unbeaten in league action with a 72-68 win over the No. 21 Tar Heels.
Fournier has played in 60 career games and is averaging 15.0 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. She is on pace to reach 1,000 career points this season, needing just 101 more.
The Blue Devils (19-6, 14-0) have won 16 straight and host NC State (17-8, 10-4) Thursday night inside Cameron Indoor Stadium. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
