DURHAM, N.C. - Two Duke baseball student-athletes were named to National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) preseason All-America teams, which were announced by the organization Friday.Â
Michael DiMartini earned First Team All-America recognition while
Cider Canon was tabbed a Fourth Team All-America.Â
DiMartini, a transfer outfielder from Dayton, arrives in Durham after a standout sophomore season for the Flyers. He hit .403 in 55 games during the 2025 campaign. He logged 11 doubles, seven triples and 14 home runs while driving in 65 runs, walking 27 times and posting an 1.150 OPS, courtesy of a .465 on-base percentage and .685 slugging percentage. DiMartini added four outfield assists last season. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, DiMartini started his collegiate career at Penn State, appearing in 13 games as a freshman.
Canon, who transferred to Duke from Davidson, is slated to be Duke's starting catcher after playing in the outfield for the Wildcats. As a sophomore, Canon hit .371 in 48 total games, tallying 16 doubles, three triples and 17 home runs en route to 52 RBI. Canon posted a 1.193 OPS with a .460 on-base percentage and .733 slugging percentage.
Both DiMartini and Cider were named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team following last season.
