DURHAM, N.C. – Duke head coach Manny Diaz announced Tuesday that Binuk Kodituwakku has been promoted to General Manager.Â

Kodituwakku served as the Chief Football Strategy Officer since June of 2023 and has overseen the program's Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) strategy, analytics and strategic roster construction and recruiting efforts.Â

In his last two seasons, his work has helped Duke to 18 victories, consecutive nine-win campaigns for just the second time in program history and the Blue Devils' first outright ACC Championship since 1962.

With Kodituwakku's efforts, Duke has excelled in the transfer portal with five pickups earning All-ACC honors in the last two seasons. Linebacker Alex Howard, who played his final season with the Blue Devils in 2024, earned honorable mention All-America accolades following the season. The Blue Devils also placed 13 transfers on Academic All-ACC squads in the last two years with Bruno Fina earning Academic All-America honors in 2024.

Prior to his time in Durham, Kodituwakku, a native of Australia, was the head of analytics and football innovation for the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League. In this role, he led the digital transformation strategy of football department and formulated roster strategy using analytical models to identify optimal trade timing and player demographics. He managed the salary cap of $15 million each year.Â
He also served as the founder and principal consultant for Above Replacement Consulting, providing data analytics and strategy consulting services on roster construction to private equity firms that owned soccer teams and teams in Australian rugby and international cricket.Â
Kodituwakku graduated from the University of Western Australia with dual bachelor's degrees in law and commerce. He earned his MBA from Duke's Fuqua School of Business in 2024. While a Fuqua student, Kodituwakku was a McGowan Foundation scholarship recipient, which is presented to a person who is in the top five percent academically and shows great community leadership. The scholarship is awarded to one person from one of 10 business schools (Carnegie Mellon, Columbia, Dartmouth, Duke, Georgetown, MIT, Michigan, Northwestern, Pennsylvania, the University of Chicago and Virginia) at the end of the first academic year.
