DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke football team completed its spring practice session Saturday morning with the program's Blue & White game inside Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium. The defense (White Team), powered by three interceptions and a fumble recovery, held off the offense (Blue Team) for a 26-17 victory.
Â
The contest featured two 15-minute quarters. The offense used traditional scoring while specialty scoring was used for the defense with two points for a three-and-out and five points for a turnover. The Blue Devils also held walk-through series without helmets to rotate more individuals into the action.Â
Â
The defense registered the first points Saturday with a three-and-out on the second possession to take a 2-0 lead. The Blue Team answered by capping a drive with a 15-yard touchdown pass from rising redshirt freshman quarterback Dan Mahan to rising redshirt freshman wide receiver Jaivon Solomon, who just snuck a toe into the corner of the end zone. An extra point from rising redshirt sophomore kicker Cosme Salas pushed the offense in front, 7-2.

Transfer linebacker Jon Morris recovered a fumble and true freshman safety KD Cotton tallied a diving interception in the end zone to make it a 26-10 cushion.Â
In two-minute mode, Mahan guided the Blue team smoothly down the field by completing 6-of-10 passes for 52 yards and a score to cap the game with a nine-yard touchdown pass to true freshman wide receiver Brody Keefe. An Ashton Zamani extra point accounted for the 26-17 final. Â
