DURHAM, N.C. - Former Duke wide receiver Andrel Anthony has agreed to terms with the Atlanta Falcons to join the NFL organization as an undrafted free agent.
Anthony, a 6-1, 195-pound product of East Lansing, Michigan, lettered one season (2025) at Duke after arriving as a graduate transfer from the University of Oklahoma. He spent two seasons with the Sooners after two seasons at the University of Michigan.Â
Anthony helped the Wolverines to two College Football Playoff contests (2021 Orange Bowl vs. Georgia; 2022 Fiesta Bowl vs. TCU) and a pair of Big Ten Championship Games (2021 vs. Iowa; 2022 vs. Purdue). In Durham, he assisted in Duke claiming its first outright ACC Championship since 1962 and the 2025 Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl crown.Â
In 44 career games (seven starts), Anthony totaled 73 receptions for 1,007 yards (13.79) and nine touchdowns with an additional two rushes for four yards (2.00). He registered two or more catches 14 times and four or more nine times. He caught a career-high seven passes against SMU and Cincinnati in 2023. Anthony finished with 30 or more receiving yards in 11 contests, 60 or more five times and 100 or more three times. He made a career-long 93-yard catch versus Michigan State in 2021 and tied a personal-best two TDs versus the Spartans. Anthony also registered two receiving TDs against No. 11 Illinois in 2025 to become just the second Blue Devil since 1996 to have multiple receiving touchdowns in a game versus a ranked foe, joining Jordan Moore (3; vs. No. 24 North Carolina; Nov. 11, 2023).
In 2025, Anthony hauled in 26 receptions for 246 yards (9.46) with five touchdowns. He caught a season-high five passes against No. 11 Illinois and finished with 50 or more receiving yards in two contests with a year-high 58 versus the Fighting Illini. He registered two receiving TDs against Illinois and single scores versus Elon, Clemson and Connecticut. He helped Duke to a 46-45 win at Clemson with a 20-yard TD reception in the opening period as the Blue Devils claimed their first victory in Death Valley since 1980. Anthony was part of a Duke offense that became the first in program history with five players having five or more touchdown grabs during the season.
Anthony graduated from Oklahoma in May 2025 with a degree in multidisciplinary studies.Â
