Rivers Selected by Baltimore Ravens in Fifth Round

DURHAM, N.C. - Former Duke cornerback Chandler Rivers was selected in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens.

Rivers was the 162nd overall pick in the draft, and the 22nd selection in the fifth round.

Rivers, a 5-10, 185-pound product of Beaumont, Texas, joins Wesley Williams (119th overall pick) as Duke 2026 NFL Draft selections. The two are the first Blue Devils drafted since Graham Barton (26th overall pick), DeWayne Carter (95th overall pick) and Jacob Monk (163rd overall pick) went in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Rivers is the first Duke draft pick by the Ravens.

A 2024 All-America selection, Rivers was also named to the 2025 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team in recognition of outstanding community leadership and overall commitment to giving back. He is a two-time All-ACC honoree, earning a first team nod in 2024 and a second team selection in 2025. In addition, Rivers was named to the 2024 Academic All-ACC Team. Rivers helped Duke to a program-record 35 wins over four seasons, four bowl game appearances (2022 Military Bowl, 2023 76 Birmingham Bowl, 2024 TaxSlayer Gator Bowl and 2025 Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl), three bowl victories and Duke's first ACC championship since 1962.

In 52 career games (45 starts), Rivers registered 223 tackles, 16.0 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, seven interceptions, three caused fumbles, one fumble recovery, 29 pass breakups, seven quarterback pressures and one blocked kick. On the Duke record chart, Rivers finished eighth in pass breakups.

He posted 41 games with three or more tackles and eight contests with seven or more tackles with a career-high 11 against Clemson in 2023. Rivers recorded one pick in contests with UCF (2022), Florida State (2023), Florida State (2024), SMU (2024), Miami (2024), California (2025) and Virginia (2025). He returned an INT 13 yards for a touchdown against the Seminoles in 2023 and 36 yards for a score in the 2024 contest against FSU.

Rivers was named the 2023 Birmingham Bowl MVP as well as a Freshman All-America by College Football News in 2022.

Rivers graduated from Duke in December 2025 with a degree in cultural anthropology.
