Payne, Ndaw Set for 2026 CAF Africa Cup of Nations

DURHAM, N.C. — Duke women's soccer alumnae Toni Payne and Dieynaba Ndaw are set to open the 2026 Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. A total of 16 participating nations will compete from July 26 through Aug. 16 in venues across host cities, including Rabat and Casablanca.
Payne, a 2017 Duke graduate, and her home country of Nigeria are the reigning champions and are in Group C, which includes Zambia, Egypt and Malawi. A 2024 Blue Devil graduate, Ndaw will represent Senegal and is in Group A along with Morocco, Algeria and Kenya.
Nigeria opens play against Malawi July 28, then will face Zambia Aug. 1 and conclude group play versus Egypt Aug. 5. Senegal faces Algeria July 26, followed by Kenya July 30 and Morocco Aug. 3 in group action.
Quarterfinal play will be held Aug. 8-9, followed by the semifinals Aug. 12 and the final Aug. 16.
