Duke Women Ranked 26th in USTFCCCA Preseason Poll

NEW ORLEANS – The Duke women's cross country team enters the 2026 season ranked 26th in the USTFCCCA NCAA Division I Preseason Poll. The Blue Devils open their campaign Sept. 18 at the adidas XC Challenge.
Duke is one of eight ACC programs among the top 20 with the No. 26 ranking the highest in a preseason poll since starting the 2013 campaign ranked fourth. The ranking is the best since it landed at No. 19 during the 2020 season.
The Blue Devils enter racing season after an outstanding spring track and field campaign. Duke finished last year strong, taking sixth at both the ACC Championship and the NCAA Southeast Regional.
Sophomore Victoria Garces is the top ACC finisher returning for the Blue Devils, while Jayce Farmer adds experience as a transfer from BYU. Poppy Craig-McFeely also was a part of Duke's ACC lineup, rounding out the top five of the Blue Devil contingent at the conference meet. Duke also welcomes a talented group of freshmen who have an opportunity to make an impact.
The Blue Devils' top runners will get their first test of racing Sept. 26 at the Meadows Challenge hosted by Princeton. The ACC Championship will be held in Blacksburg, Va., Oct. 30.
