DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke cross country teams open the 2026 racing season Saturday at the Meadows Challenge hosted by Princeton University. The men's gun goes off at 9:30 and the women start at 10:15 a.m. on the Princeton XC Course.

The Blue Devils will be represented by 12 men and 12 women with a total of six freshmen making their collegiate racing debuts. Duke is among 15 men's squads, including ACC foes Syracuse and North Carolina. There will be 17 women's teams toeing the line with the Blue Devils set to race against fellow ACC teams North Carolina, Syracuse and Wake Forest. Live results can be found here.

Saturday will be the Duke cross country debut for 2025 All-American Meshack Kuyo. The Boise State transfer finished 27th at last year's NCAA Championship meet following a fourth-place showing at the NCAA West Region Championships.

Kuyo is joined by Aden Bandukwala, Kavi Gibson, Jeremy Kain, Alden Keller, Rendon Kuykendall, Braden Lofquest, Zach Parker, Owen Pukys, Will Purnell, Hunter Robbie and Finlay Ross-Davie. It will be the first college race for rookies Gibson and Robbie, while Parker, Pukys and Ross-Davie also will be competing for the first time as Blue Devils.

The women's squad features a combination of youth and experience as four freshmen run alongside a group of five seniors or graduate students, two juniors and one sophomore. Sophomore Victoria Garces owns the fastest collegiate 6k time of the group with a personal best of 20:14, with Brown transfer Nimrit Ahuja right on her heels at 20:25.

The talented quartet of freshmen Cassidy Armstrong, Ellie Maddox, Sophia Szolosi and Sundara Weber don the Duke uniform for the first time, while veterans Anna Callahan, Ella Johns, Molly FitzPatrick, Caroline Hood, Hattie Reynolds and Thais Rolly complete the Duke lineup.

The Blue Devils race again next week, Oct. 2, at the Richmond Invitational.
