PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The fourth-ranked Duke women's soccer team hit the road Sunday and recorded 18 shots, but ultimately settled for a 0-0 draw against Pittsburgh at Ambrose Urbanic Field.

It marked the first time this season the Blue Devils were held scoreless, while Duke collected its fourth clean sheet of the year. Duke sophomore goalkeeper Molly Vapensky finished with four saves on the afternoon and recorded the second shutout of her collegiate career.

Duke moved to 6-1-3 overall and 1-1-2 in the ACC, while Pittsburgh is now 6-4-2, 0-3-1 in the league.

How It Happened

Duke featured the first shot of the match as redshirt junior Sam Courtwright found a streaking junior Katie Shea Collins at the top left of the box and fired a shot that went just wide left at the 5:33 mark.
Collins had another attempt off a cross from senior Mia Oliaro, but her header went off the crossbar and out of bounds.
With about nine minutes remaining in the half, Collins fought off a Pitt defender and fired a shot that Panthers goalkeeper Elli Johnson saved.
Collins finished with five first-half shots, while Duke held a 9-2 advantage in shots at the end of the first half.
Duke opened the second half with a shot inside the first two minutes as freshman Rylee McLanahan found Courtwright in the box, but Johnson made a one-handed save to keep the Blue Devils off the board.
Blue Devil goalkeeper Molly Vapensky made her first save of the match in the 59th minute on a shot from Pitt's Lola Abraham.
At the 68:09 mark, sophomore Avery Oder sent a cross from the left side to senior Mia Minestrella. The Redondo Beach, California, native took a touch and lofted a ball toward the goal, but a Pitt defender was able to clear the ball off the line.
With just under 10 minutes remaining redshirt sophomore Lauren Martinho played a nice ball inside the box to Minestrella, but her shot was blocked. Duke earned a corner kick, which resulted in senior Cameron Roller heading the ball high over the crossbar.
Minestrella had another open look in front of the goal following a Jocelyn Travers corner kick, but her attempt sailed high over the crossbar at the 82:12 mark.
Duke goalkeeper Molly Vapensky made three saves over the final six minutes as Pittsburgh attempted the final four shots of the match.

Notes

Duke did not score in the first half for only the third time this season, and for the second consecutive game.
Junior Katie Shea Collins did not play in the second half after attempting five shots in the first half.
The Blue Devils were held scoreless for the first time in 2026 despite holding an 18-7 advantage in shots. Mia Minestrella and Collins led the way with five attempts each.
After scoring a goal in six games in a row, Minestrella has been held without a goal in back-to-back games.
Molly Vapensky totaled her second shutout of the season.
In true road games this year, Duke is 2-1-2.
