2014-15: Had a fantastic rookie season for the Blue Devils as a multi-event athlete…Indoors, claimed fourth in the heptathlon at the ACC Championships (2/27) with a 5,349 point total, the fourth-best score in school history, to earn second team All-ACC honors…produced a third-place showing in his heptathlon debut, totaling 5,093 points at the Tobacco Road Cup (1/23)…Outdoors, captured the first conference title of his Duke career, winning the decathlon at the ACC Championships (5/15) with a 7,281 performance to garner All-ACC first team accolades…third-highest decathlon score in Duke history…marked the second straight season a Blue Devil took home the gold medal in the decathlon (Robert Rohner in 2014)…placed 10th in his first decathlon, producing a point total of 7,173 at the Mt. Sac Relays (4/16)…earned spots on both the All-ACC Academic Men’s Indoor Track & Field Team and the All-ACC Academic Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Team…also named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
Prior to Duke: Lettered four years in track & field at Centennial High School in Boise, Idaho, under the tutelage of coach Joel Segraves…won gold in the long jump at the Idaho 5A State Championships his junior season…earned Idaho all-state honors for both his sophomore and junior season…named the team MVP his senior and junior year…also lettered two years in both basketball and football…was the leading scorer and rebounder for Centennial High his sophomore season and was voted Most Inspirational Player during the 2012-13 season…in football, played wide receiver and free safety and served as the team’s punt and kick returner…represented his graduating class as Valedictorian…National AP Scholar and member of the National Honor Society…earned a medal at the State Science Olympiad…served as class president his freshman and sophomore year…earned the Mayor’s Award to Youth—City of Boise…graduate of the Leadership Boise Academy…volunteered at the Special Olympics…played violin for eight years.
