Alec Kopatich joined Duke Athletics in 2022 as an Equipment Operations Manager. In this capacity, he oversees the equipment and apparel for men's basketball, men's golf and swimming & diving, working closely with student-athletes, coaches, staff and vendors. His responsibilities include equipment maintenance, apparel distribution and laundry services.
Prior to his tenure at Duke, Kopatich was an Equipment Manager at the University of Pittsburgh, managing equipment for multiple sports programs. His duties there encompassed buying decisions, inventory management, NCAA compliance and coordination of laundry and embroidery services, along with preparing equipment for away games and practice setups.Â
At the University of Washington, Kopatich managed equipment for men’s basketball, men’s and women’s rowing and women’s gymnastics.
Kopatich holds a Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from the University of Kansas. His previous roles at Kansas include serving as a Women's Basketball Manager and Assistant Equipment Manager, where he assisted with inventory and operations for various sports such as women’s basketball, swimming & diving and rowing.
