DURHAM, N.C. – A goal in each half propelled Duke men's soccer past Greensboro College, 2-0, on Tuesday night. The Blue Devils (6-8) received goals from the freshman pair of
Jack Ottley and
Ethan Congleton, as the classmates increased the team lead in goals to six apiece.
Max Deisenhofer tallied the clean sheet, his second of his freshman season. Congleton also was credited with an assist, his third three-point night of the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED

- Jack Ottley broke the ice a couple minutes later, curling in a right-footed strike from outside the 18-yard box in the 20th minute for his sixth goal of the year. Ethan Congleton was credited with the assist, his sixth helper for the season.
- The Blue Devils continued to pepper the goal, finishing the first half with seven total shots on goal, but remained ahead by the same 1-0 scoreline at halftime.
- Duke leaned heavily on corner kicks in the first half of the second frame, earning seven within the first 20 minutes.
- The Blue Devils continued their offensive push, but were kept out of the net by several diving saves from the Pride's goalie.
- Congleton doubled Duke's lead from the penalty spot in the 88th minute, after Duke won its challenge for a potential handball in the box, sealing the 2-0 victory.
