Chase Ferguson joined Duke Athletics in 2025 as the Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Facilities & Projects before being named Director of Special Events & Championships in 2026. In his current role, he oversees outside events and camp operations across Duke Athletics facilities while managing facility use agreements and event contracts in collaboration with University Legal. Ferguson also oversees liability insurance and waiver processes, event revenue and expense budgets and the department's EMS scheduling software for athletics spaces. In addition, he works to expand partnerships with the Durham Sports Commission and other event partners and manages the summer internship program in conjunction with the Director of Game Operations.
In his initial role at Duke, Ferguson oversaw the operation, maintenance and scheduling of football-related facilities, including Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium, the Yoh Football Building, Blue Devil Tower, Pascal Fieldhouse, Brooks Practice Facility and the Brooks Locker Room. He worked closely with campus partners, vendors and internal units to support the needs of Duke football student-athletes, coaches and staff.
Prior to Duke, Ferguson served in multiple leadership roles at the College of the Holy Cross, most recently as Associate Director of Athletics for Facilities & Operations. There, he oversaw capital projects, event operations for 27 varsity sports and the department's external facility rental structure. He also served as the primary game manager for football and as tournament director for Patriot League and NCAA postseason championships. Earlier in his career, he held operations and equipment positions at Miami University, managing Olympic sport game operations and team equipment logistics.
A native of Ohio, Ferguson earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees in sport management from Bowling Green State University.
