Dr. Stephen Shaheen

Dr. Stephen Shaheen joined the Duke Athletics team as an Assistant Team Physician in 2016.
Originally from Eastern North Carolina, Stephen attended the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Â Following graduation, he completed residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Maryland and a subsequent fellowship training year at Duke University Medical Center in Primary Care Sports Medicine.
In addition to his Sports Medicine clinic at the Duke Sports Science Institute, he works in the Emergency Department at Duke University Hospital.
Dr. Shaheen has interests in medical training and education and acts as an Assistant Fellowship Director for the Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship along with leadership roles in the Emergency Medicine residency program.
