Sarah Mubenga-Dezeme joined Duke Athletics in December 2024 and serves as a Program Coordinator for the Iron Dukes. In her role, she supports donor relations, stewardship initiatives, special events and program administration while helping advance the mission of Duke Athletics Development. Mubenga-Dezeme manages the Junior Iron Dukes program, coordinates donor engagement efforts, supports gift processing and data management and assists with signature events, including the Iron Dukes Scholarship and Endowment Event.

Prior to joining Duke Athletics, Mubenga-Dezeme spent eight years as an elementary school educator in North Carolina, where she built strong relationships with students and families, created engaging learning environments and supported the academic growth of diverse learners.

A native of Raleigh, N.C., Mubenga-Dezeme is a first-generation American with family roots in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. She earned a Bachelor of Science in communication from East Carolina and a Master of Education from UNC Pembroke.
