Five Blue Devils Advance in Rolex Southeast Regional Qualifying

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Five Duke women's tennis singles players advanced to
the second round of the 2000 ITA Southeast Regional Qualifying Championships
on Friday at Wake Forest University.
Duke's Ioana Plesu defeated Shannon Stafford of Kentucky (6-0, 6-1), Katie Granson downed Christina Synder of NC A&T (6-0, 6-0), Amanda Johnson defeated Ana Rojas of Wingate (6-3, 6-1), Prim Siripipat knocked off Lee Bairos of North Carolina (4-6, 6-2, 6-4), and Kathy Sell downed Anna Savitskaya of Clemson (7-5, 6-2).
In doubles action, Johnson/Megan Miller defeated Christina Oldock/Ana Stiglic of Clemson (8-0) and Hillary Adams/Ansley Cargill knocked off Daniela Greco/Katie Hangstefer of UTC (8-3), while Prim Siripipat/Plesu fell to Leigh Bradwell/Shannon Stafford (8-4) and Sell/Granson lost to Carmina Giraldo/Anna Savitskaya of Clemson (8-3).
The next two rounds will take place on Saturday in Winston-Salem, N.C.
