DALLAS, TEXAS - For the first time this season, Duke University's first-seeded sophomore Kelly McCain fell 6-3, 6-4 to Georgia's third-seeded Agata Cioroch on Saturday in the semifinals at the Omni Hotels National Indoor Championship in Dallas, Texas.
McCain falls to 8-1 on the season and her bid to win the first two Grand Slam singles titles of the year is over. Last month, McCain won the Riviera All-America singles title.
With the loss, it marks the end of the fall season for McCain. The Blue Devil team schedule starts on January 18 with a 5:00 PM match at Northwestern.
