DURHAM, N.C. -- Seventh-ranked Duke finished off its third game in the three days with a 7-0 sweep of 35th-ranked Indiana on Sunday in the Ambler Tennis Stadium in Durham, N.C. The Blue Devils improve to 13-3 overall, while Indiana fell to 11-5.
Duke won two of three doubles matches as Amanda Johnson/Julie DeRoo defeated Martina Grimm/Dominika Walterova (8-4) and Katie Granson/Susie Abromeit downed Amanda Field/Jessica Levin (9-8) at the second and third positions, respectively. Duke's number one tandem of Kelly McCain/Hillary Adams fell to Karie Schlukebir/Linda Tran (9-8).
In singles action, Duke swept the action as McCain, Johnson, DeRoo, Granson, Ioana Plesu and Saras Arasu each notched wins. McCain, ranked fourth-nationally in singles, won her third consecutive match of the weekend to improve to 22-5 in singles action on the season.
The Blue Devils will be on the road this week at William & Mary on Thursday at 4:00 PM and then return home on April 1 versus Notre Dame at 4:00 PM.
