PALO ALTO, CALIF.-- Duke's 26th-ranked doubles duo of Kelly McCain (Tampa, Fla.) and Hillary Adams (New York, NY) had their run stopped at the NCAA women's tennis doubles competition on Thursday in Palo Alto, Calif. by fifth-ranked Lauren Fisher/Megan Bradley of UCLA in the Elite Eight.
The Blue Devils battled for three sets but ended up falling 7-6 (3), 4-6, 6-2 to conclude the season with a 13-7 mark. The run in the tournament gives Adams/McCain All-America status for the first time in each of their careers.
As a team, Duke finished the season with a 25-5 overall record and the Blue Devils return all but one letterwinner in 2002-03.
