Duke Women's Tennis Opens Fall Season This Weekend In Adidas Invitational

PEACHTREE CITY, GA. - The Duke women's tennis team will open the fall season this weekend in the Adidas Invitational, which will take place from Sept. 27-29 in Peachtree City, Ga. Duke along with Florida, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Northwestern and Wisconsin will participate in the invitational.
Traveling to the Adidas Invitational will be senior Julie DeRoo, senior Katie Granson, senior Prim Siripipat, senior Hillary Adams, junior Amanda Johnson, sophomore Susie Abromeit, sophomore Saras Arasu and freshman Julia Smith.
Four of the players traveling this weekend were ranked in the preseason Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings: Johnson (T15th), DeRoo (28th), Arasu (47th) and Smith (99th).
Overall, Duke returns eight letterwinners off of last year's 25-5 squad which advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
