Duke's Amanda Johnson Advances To Singles Finals At Adidas Classic

DURHAM, N.C. - Senior Amanda Johnson advanced to the singles finals of the Adidas Tennis Classic on Saturday with victories over two ranked Florida players and will next take on eighth-ranked Alexis Gordon of Florida on Sunday at 8:00 a.m.
Johnson, who is currently ranked ninth in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings, defeated 59th-ranked Jennifer Magley (6-4, 6-3) and 17th-ranked Zerene Reyes (6-3, 6-1) of Florida on Saturday to advance to the finals.
The only other Blue Devil still playing besides Johnson is freshman Parker Goyer, who is playing in the semifinals of the Flight B consolation bracket on Sunday. Goyer knocked off Kaylan Caiati (6-1, 6-1) and Lindsey Martin (6-3, 7-6) of Wisconsin on Saturday.
