TALLAHASSEE, FLA. - The third-ranked Duke women's tennis team picked up its 11th straight victory on Sunday with a 4-3 win over 35th-ranked Florida State in Tallahassee, Fla. The Blue Devils improve to 12-1 overall and 3-0 in the ACC, while Florida State lost its first ACC contest dropping to 19-4, 5-1.
"Florida State is a tough place to play and the crowd was very good," said Duke Head Coach Jamie Ashworth. "This was the best doubles we have played all year and it was good for us to pull out a close match today. Florida State will end up being in the top-20 of the rankings by the end of the year as they are a very good team."
Duke set the tone early going up 4-0 in all three doubles matches and ended up notching wins in all three to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
