DURHAM, N.C. - The 25th-ranked Duke duo of senior Daniela Bercek and freshman Elizabeth Plotkin has received a bid to the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, held Nov. 2-5 in Columbus, Ohio.
Bercek and Plotkin were selected to the championship field as a result of their semifinal finish at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships earlier this month. After upsetting No. 1-ranked Jenna Long and Sara Anundsen of North Carolina to advance to the semifinals of the All-American Championships, the two fell to fourth-ranked Roxanne Clarke and Kady Pooler of Arizona State in a semifinal matchup.
Bercek and Plotkin entered the All-American Championships in the qualifying round, and defeated five nationally ranked teams en route to the semifinals of the prestigious tournament. The two have won five of their last six matches while facing only ranked opponents, and are 5-2 this fall.
ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships doubles play is set to begin at 11 a.m. on Nov. 2 at The Ohio State University's Stickney Tennis Center.
