DURHAM, N.C. - Josh McRoberts and Jon Scheyer scored 14 points apiece and Duke held Davidson to 28.6 percent field goal shooting as the Blue Devils defeated the Wildcats, 75-47, in men's basketball action on Saturday night in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Duke improves to 5-1 on the year while Davidson falls to 4-3.
Duke used an 11-2 run spanning 4:12 to push an 11-8 lead to a 22-10 advantage on two foul shots by Scheyer. Scheyer then scored five points as the Blue Devils closed the first half with a 9-0 spurt to claim a 34-18 lead at intermission.
The Blue Devils led by as many as 30 points in the second stanza.
McRoberts was five-of-eight from the floor and four-of-four from the line while hauling in a team-high nine rebounds. Scheyer connected on three three-pointers in four attempts en route to his 14 points. Rookie center Brian Zoubek chipped in 12 points and seven boards while Gerald Henderson picked up 10 points.
Davidson was led by Jason Richards who had 17 points and five assists.
Duke remains at home to entertain Indiana in the ACC/Big 10 Challenge on Tuesday night at 9 p.m. (ESPN). The Blue Devils are a perfect 7-0 in ACC/Big 10 Challenge games with wins over Illinois (72-69 in 2000 & 78-77 in 2001), Iowa (80-62 in 2002), Ohio State (91-76 in 2003), Michigan State (72-50 in 2004 & 81-74 in 2005) and Indiana (75-67 in 2005).
