Cassese will play for the United States team in the competition while Marshall and Wray have earned spots on Team Canada.
The United States will attempt to defend its world title after claiming the championship in 2002 in Perth, Australia.
Cassese, a current assistant coach at Duke and native of Port Jefferson Station, N.Y., lettered from 2000-03 and helped the Blue Devils to two ACC championships and three NCAA Tournament berths. He finished his collegiate career with 80 goals and 38 assists and was a three-time All-America selection. A member of the United States team that captured the gold medal at the 2002 ILF World Championships, Cassese plays professionally for the Rochester Rattlers of Major League Lacrosse.
A native of Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, Marshall helped the Blue Devils to an NCAA single-season record 17 wins and appearance in the national championship game in 2005. He lettered two seasons (2004-05) at Duke, and, as a senior, finished seventh on the team in scoring with 21 points with 10 goals and 11 assists. Marshall plays professionally for the Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League.
Wray, a product of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, was a classmate of Cassese's at Duke and served as team captain in 2003. Currently a member of the coaching staff at Queens (N.C.) College, Wray plays professionally for the Calgary Roughnecks of the National Lacrosse League.
