The premier hard court event of the fall collegiate season, the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships presented by Fila feature the top players in NCAA Division I tennis. In the 2005-06 Championships, Duke's Bercek was defeated by TCU's Nicole Leimback in the championship match as the transfer dominated throughout the rest of the bracket in her first tournament as a Blue Devil..
The Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships is the first of three Intercollegiate Tennis Association national and singles and doubles championships of the 2006-07 season, along with the November 2-5 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships and the year-end NCAA Championships.
The October 5-8 main draw is preceded by two sets of qualifying tournaments. The 64-player, 32 doubles team prequalifying tournament is Sept. 30-Oct. 1 at UCLA and eight players and four doubles teams will advance from there to the Oct. 3-4 64-player qualifying tournament at Riviera, where eight players and four doubles teams will advance to the main draw.
