Duke Closes Homestand With Bucknell On Friday...
The 14th-ranked Duke women's basketball team (8-3) will close a two-game homestand on Friday, Dec. 21 as the Blue Devils host Bucknell (4-6) at 7:00 p.m., in Cameron Indoor Stadium. Duke will play two straight home contests for the first time this season.
The game will be aired live on the Duke Radio Network with Steve Barnes (PxP) and Missy Anderson (Color) calling the action on WDNC AM 620. Live video/audio will also be available on ACC Select at http://duke.accselect.com.
Following the Bucknell contest, Duke will have four full days off before returning to campus on Dec. 26 for practice. Duke will then travel to Houston for a Dec. 28 contest at 2:00 p.m.
The Blue Devils are currently ranked No. 14 in the Associated Press and No. 15 in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Polls.

A Look At Bucknell...
Bucknell enters the contest with a 4-6 overall record under the direction of Head Coach Kathy Fedorjaka, who is in her 11th season with the Bison. Fedorjaka owns a 161-136 record over her career at Bucknell. So far this year, Bucknell has been led by Amanda Brown (13.3 points, 18 treys), Hope Foster (10.4 points, 28 blocks), Lauren Schober (8.7 points, 4.0 rebounds) and Kesha Champion (8.0 points, 5.2 rebounds).
In the NCAA stats, Foster ranks 16th nationally with a 2.8 blocks per game average, while Champion ranks 80th in free throw percentage (83.9).
On Dec. 15, the Bison fell, 64-55, to Penn State, which is the only common opponent for the two squads. Duke lost, 86-84, at Penn State on Dec. 2.

Win Streaks At Home...
Duke currently has two very impressive home winning streaks in Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Blue Devils have won a school-record 20 straight home games, 25 straight contests versus non-conference opponents and 72 consecutive games against unranked opponents.
In three games at home this season, Duke is averaging 76.0 points a game, while holding opponents to 48.0 points. As a team, the Blue Devils are hitting 41.1 percent from the field, 25.0 percent from downtown and 71.1 percent from the free throw line. Duke's defense has been stellar holding foes to 29.9 percent from the field, 31.6 percent from three-point range and forcing 32.2 turnovers a contest. Utah Valley was forced to commit 39 turnovers on Dec. 18.
Storylines/Trends...
? The Duke at Houston game will now be played at 2:00 p.m. (Eastern), due to the Cougars' football team playing in a bowl game the same day.
? Duke totaled season highs in points (95), field goals made (39), field goals attempted (94), free throw percentage (91.7) and tied for assists (25) on Tuesday versus Utah Valley.
? Junior Carrem Gay posted a season-high 20 points against Utah Valley, which marked the third time this season has posted double-figure points. She added 10 rebounds which marked her second double-double of the season and third of her career. Her 10 field goals and 16 field goal attempts were career highs. In four games off the bench, Gay has averaged 12.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks in 24.5 minutes a game. She is hitting 35.3 percent from the field in seven games started but is hitting 51.2 percent from the field in contests she has come off the bench.
? In the latest NCAA stats that were released, Duke's Chante Black ranks 23rd nationally in blocked shots per game (2.5). As a team, the Blue Devils are averaging 6.5 swats a game to rank sixth. The next highest team category is field goal percentage defense as Duke ranks 25th (34.2).
? The Blue Devils will play just their fourth home contest of the season out of 12 games on Friday. Duke is also playing two straight home games for the first time this year.
? Duke has won a school-record 20 straight home contests in Cameron Indoor Stadium, including four wins against top-five ranked opponents.
? Chante Black broke a string of eight straight games scoring double-figures snapped against Pittsburgh on Dec. 8 as she posted seven points. She came back to post 15 points versus Utah Valley and has scored double-figures in nine of 11 contests.

Waner Puts Mark In ACC Record Book...
One of Duke's oldest records was broken on Dec. 18 against Utah Valley as junior Abby Waner registered a school-record 10 steals, while tying the ACC single-game mark. Waner totaled five steals in the first half and then had five in the second stanza, while playing only 32 minutes. She became only the 11th player in ACC history to total 10 assists in a game and had the fourth-highest single-game total in the NCAA this season.
The previous Duke record was nine held by Missy Anderson (vs. Drake, 12-28-92) and Kim Matthews (vs. Davidson, 2-2-79).
By notching 19 points and 10 assists for the game, Waner posted her second career double-double. She was also three assists shy of totaling the third triple-double in school history as she finished with seven dishes. Waner's two double-doubles over her career have come with double-figure points/steals and double-figure points/assists.
Moving Up The Charts...
With her 16 blocks over the last three games, junior Chante Black has moved into fifth place on Duke's all-time blocked shots list with 140. She is nine away from tying Alana Beard at fourth.
Junior Abby Waner hit four three-pointers in the last contest against Utah Valley, which moved her into fifth place on Duke's career three-pointers made list with 135. She passed Kira Orr (133) and Hilary Howard (132) on her way. She is 24 treys away from fourth place where Jennifer Scanlon sits with 159. Waner is also two steals shy of moving into a tie for 10th place on Duke's all-time swipes list. She owns 169 and would tie Georgia Schweitzer's mark of 171.
Moving her way up the Blue Devil career assists list is senior Wanisha Smith as she owns 425 and is sixth. She needs three more to tie Georgia Schweitzer (428) for fifth.
Injury Report...
Duke has been hit with the most injuries in recent Blue Devil history with two of Duke's most experienced players -- Abby Waner and Wanisha Smith -- missing a total of eight games. Both Waner and Smith saw action against Utah Valley on Tuesday marking only the third game this season the duo has played in the same game together (Connecticut, Denver).
Smith suffered an spiral fracture of her fourth metacarpal in her right hand against South Florida and missed the UNCG contest. She broke a streak of 107 straight games played and 55 consecutive starts. Smith returned to the court in the Paradise Jam playing all three contests, but then missed four straight contests to rest her hand. She came back to play against Utah Valley and had five assists, four rebounds, three points, and one steal in 26 minutes.
On Tuesday, Nov. 13, Waner suffered a high left ankle sprain and missed four straight contests before returning against UConn. By missing the South Florida game, Waner broke a streak of playing 70 straight games for the Blue Devils. She has played in six straight games since missing four in a row.
Freshman Krystal Thomas suffered a subluxed left kneecap in the first half at Vanderbilt and did not return. She has been participating in selected drills in practice but will miss approximately two more weeks with the injury. Thomas had earned ACC Rookie of the Week honors on Nov. 19.
Redshirt sophomore Brittany Mitch was hit below her right eye early in the second half versus South Florida and received five stitches.
