DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke women's tennis team will begin its 2007 fall campaign this weekend, as six members of the squad will travel to Williamsburg, Va., for the 15th Annual William & Mary Women's Tennis Invitational.
In singles Flight A action, sophomore Elizabeth Plotkin will take on Jennifer Stevens of Virginia on Friday at 10:15 a.m., while junior Melissa Mang is set to face top-seeded Tatsiana Uvarova of VCU at 11:45 a.m. and sophomore Amanda Granson will take on fourth-seeded Kellie Schmitt of Marshall at 12 p.m.
Freshman Reka Zsilinszka is the No. 2 seed in Flight B, as she is set to face Boston College's Lauren Cash at 10:30 a.m. Senior Tory Zawacki will take on Julia Huschke of Maryland at noon in the same bracket.
Flight C action will see junior Jessi Robinson go up against Princeton's Blakely Ashley at 10:30 a.m.
In doubles competition, the No. 2-seeded duo of Mang and Zsilinszka will take on Huschke and Michal Amir of Maryland at 9:15 a.m. on Friday in the Flight A bracket, while Robinson and Granson will go up against the fourth-seeded tandem of Ekaterina Kosminskaya and Julia Koulbitskaya of Penn at 8 a.m.
In Flight B, Plotkin and Zawacki will face Cincinnati's Jenny Rowen and Tess Reddin at 8 a.m.
The William & Mary Women's Tennis Invitational will run from Sept. 14-16. Results will be updated throughout the day and a final bracket will be posted at the conclusion of each day's matches at www.tribeathletics.com.
