CHAPEL HILL, N.C.?The Duke University women's tennis team closed out its fall season at the Kitty Harrison Invitational hosted by University of North Carolina. The Blue Devils took on opponents from in a round robin event.
In the second day of action, Duke took on foes from Marshall in singles action. Sophomore Reka Zsilinszka grabbed a come-from-behind win at the No. 1 spot, beating Kellie Schmitt 5-7, 6-1 (10-6).
Senior Melissa Mang added a win to the slate, breezing past Deanna Bailey 6-3, 6-0. Jessi Robinson rounded out the Duke lineup as she rallied for the win after dropping the first set. She regrouped in the second set and beat Catherine Kellner 2-6, 6-3 (10-7).
In doubles action, Ellah Nze and Reka Zsilinszka battled hard to edge the duo of Hilary Bartlett and Taylor Marable from Princeton 9-8 (7-5).
The Blue Devils resume the 2009 season at the Michigan Invitational on Jan. 17-19.
