DURHAM, N.C. - Duke senior forward Elisabeth Redmond has been named Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Women's Soccer Co-Player of the Week on Tuesday, after guiding Duke to victories over Miami and Clemson.
Redmond led Duke to a 4-0 win at home against Miami on Thursday and followed that up with a 2-0 road win at Clemson. The victory at Clemson broke a five-game road losing streak against the Tigers, as the Blue Devils had not won at Clemson since 1997.
Last Thursday against Miami, Redmond scored the game-winning goal and assisted on the three other goals as the Blue Devils broke out of a three-match scoring slump. Redmond, who is a product of Morristown, N.J., registered an assist on the game-winning goal at Clemson on Sunday as Duke improved to 6-5-4 overall and 2-2-2 in the ACC.
Redmond now owns 33 career assists, which is second all-time at Duke, her 26 goals is seventh and her 85 points ranks fourth all-time on the Blue Devil charts. She is three points shy of third place.
She shared the weekly honor with Florida State sophomore Tiffany McCarty. Duke will next host Virginia on Thursday, Oct. 22 as the Blue Devils host Virginia at 7:00 p.m.
