CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.?The Duke University women's tennis team added another win to its total today with a 7-0 win over ACC foe Boston College. The No. 7 Blue Devils did not drop a single set for the second consecutive match.
Duke improves to 14-3 overall on the year and 4-1 in conference action. The Blue Devils dropped just 10 games in the three doubles matches and 21 games across the six doubles matches. The team closes out its month-long road swing on April 1 at North Carolina.
Playing its third match in five days, Duke swept through doubles to take a 1-0 lead. The top team of Melissa Mang and Amanda Granson captured an 8-3 win. Jessi Robinson and Mallory Cecil won at No. 2 by an 8-2 score, while Reka Zslinszka and Ellah Nze completed the sweep with an 8-5 victory.
Duke was equally dominant in singles action. Playing her 15th match at No. 1, the 31st ranked Cecil won 6-0, 6-3. Zsilinszka wasted little time on the court at No. 3, beating her foe 6-1, 6-0 for her team-best 15th victory of the year. Lining up at No. 2, Nze dispatched her opponent 6-2, 6-4 to move to 14-2 overall for the season.
Granson won her third straight match, dropping her Boston College counterpart 6-2, 6-0. Mang and Robinson both added a victory to their season totals, winning 6-2, 6-4 at No. 5 and 6-1, 6-2 in the sixth spot, respectively.
Duke and North Carolina square off in the annual Carlyle Cup meeting on April 1 at 3 p.m., in Chapel Hill.
