SAN DIEGO - Freshmen Annie Mulholland and Monica Turewicz completed day two of the SDSU Fall Classic Saturday, competing in semifinal matches in both singles and doubles play.
In singles play, Turewicz defeated San Diego State's Julia Wais 6-3, 6-4, and advanced to the championship match in the blue flight, while Mulholland defeated San Diego State's Roxanne Ellison 6-1 6-3 to advance to Sunday's championship match in the silver flight. Turewicz will take on Utah's Anastasia Putillna and Mulholland will face San Diego State's Emma Cloffi, tomorrow.
In doubles action, Turewicz and Mulholland fell in a semifinal matchup to San Diego State's sisterly duo of Roxanne and Sierra Ellison by an 8-6 count. Turewicz and Mulholland will play in a third place match tomorrow against Houston's Bryony Hunter and Giorgia Pozzan duo.
