PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - The Duke women's tennis team saw the final day of the qualifying rounds at the ITA/Riviera All-American Championships endure inclement weather that postponed action until Thursday morning.
Qualifying doubles action has been pushed back to 9 a.m. PST tomorrow morning where freshmen Beatrice Capra and Ester Goldfeld will resume their quest toward earning a bid in the main draw of the tournament when they take on fourth-seeded Kate Fuller and Lauren Herring from the University of Georgia.
In the back draw, junior Mary Clayton and sophomore Hanna Mar are scheduled to take on Brown University's Jessica Harrow and Misia Krawoski. Senior Monica Gorny and sophomore Rachel Kahan will face off with William & Mary's Maria Belaya and Jeltje Loomans.
The singles qualifying draw will commence at the conclusion of all doubles action, but not before 1 p.m. PST. Clayton is slated to play in the back draw of the singles qualifying bracket against Iowa's Sonja Molnar.
On Tuesday, Clayton won a first round match in the consolation bracket 6-1, 6-3 over UNLV's Lucia Batta. Mar was downed by Clemson's Keri Wong in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.
