In the Rankings...        North Carolina is ranked sixth in both the Soccer America and NSCAA polls.
A Look at North Carolina...    The Tar Heels enter the weekend with a 9-2-1 overall and 6-0-0 league mark, including eight straight wins.  Joanna Boyles (3 goals, 4 assists), Amber Munerlyn (2 goals, 3 assists), Megan Buckingham (3 goals) and Cameron Castleberry (2 goals, 2 assists) have led North Carolina on the season.  A total of 10 different Tar Heels have scored goals.
The Series with North Carolina...        North Carolina leads the overall series with Duke by a 36-2-1 ledger.  The last win for the Blue Devils came in Chapel Hill during the 2005 season.  The Tar Heels have won nine straight matches in the series and in games played in Durham Duke owns an 0-13 mark.
Key Stretch for Duke..    Duke needed to finish strong in 2013 to make a run in the NCAA Tournament and the Blue Devils will need to do so again in 2014 with a 7-6-1 overall mark.  Duke has four matches remaining, including three at home, and needs to have a .500 record or above to have a chance to make the NCAA Tournament.  The Blue Devils have advanced to 11 straight NCAA Tournaments.
Church Nearing Milestone..    With the next victory, Duke head coach
Robbie Church will post his 350th overall win during his 29 years as a men's and women's head coach.  His record currently stands 349-216-51, including a 166-102-37 mark with the Blue Devils.
Lineup Gets Shaken Up..    After starting the same lineup for most of the season, head coach
Robbie Church shook things up against Wake Forest as he inserted senior
Katie Trees and redshirt sophomore
Danielle Duhl into the starting lineup.  He said he wanted to get “Energy Players” inserted in there.
The plan worked as Duke went on to take down Wake Forest, 2-1.
Miller Nets Game-Winner...        After being taken out of the starting lineup for the first time this season, freshman
Ashton Miller came off the bench against Wake Forest and posted the game-winning goal in the second half.  She headed in a strike from
Schuyler DeBree and
Toni Payne in the 74th minute.
Solid Defense...        Over the last seven matches, Duke has allowed only four  goals -- two at third-ranked Virginia Tech, one at 24th-ranked Clemson and one versus Wake Forest.  The Blue Devils have shutout opponents in four out of the last seven contests.  Redshirt junior
Ali Kershner has a 0.53 goals-against average in those matches.
The Blue Devils feature a very young defense with junior
Kara Wilson, sophomore
Lizzy Raben, freshman
Morgan Reid and freshman
Schuyler DeBree.  Sophomore
Christina Gibbons will also see action in the back as well.
Tough Stretch for Scoring...        For the first time this season, Duke was held scoreless in three straight matches against Virginia Tech, Louisville and Clemson.  In fact, the Blue Devils scored only one goal over the previous four matches prior to Wake Forest.  In the last seven contests, Duke has scored multiple goals only twice against Pittsburgh and WFU.
Duke was held scoreless for three consecutive matches for the first time since the 2009 campaign.
The Blue Devils switched their formation for the match against the Demon Deacons and scored two goals for the first time since Sept. 19 versus Pitt.
Back in Durham...        The Blue Devils are in a stretch where they are playing four straight home matches, after playing eight out of 13 matches on the road.  Duke enters Sunday's match at home with a 27-5-7 record at Koskinen Stadium dating back to the 2011 season.
Quinn Misses Two Games...    Sophomore
Rebecca Quinn missed the last two matches with a knee injury and she is listed as questionable for the UNC match.  Quinn will head to training with the Canada National Team and will miss the Virginia and Boston College matches.
