DURHAM, N.C.—The Duke men's soccer team spent its past two Saturdays giving back to the Durham community that helps make Duke such a great place. The Blue Devils spent time with children in the Durham community, visiting a local school's fall festival and spending a day at Durham Parks and Rec working with young kids. The Blue Devils also took time out to help improve themselves and make Duke even safer by taking part in CPR training with Duke professor George Grody.
Following a big win over NC State on Sept. 30, the Blue Devils went out Saturday to Cresset Christian Academy's Fall Festival. The players played games, took part in contests and had a great time with all of the kids and families at the festival. It was a great way to spend a Saturday with all parties finishing the day with big smiles on their faces. The players did everything from playing some soccer with the kids to jousting on inflatables with giant poles.

The following weekend, Duke didn't bunker down for Hurricane Matthew, but instead made the trip to Durham Parks and Rec to do a soccer clinic for young kids. Forced to move inside because of the torrential rain and wind, the Blue Devils didn't skip a beat doing fun drills and games with the kids.
The players added one more team task to the list this past Saturday, going to CPR training with Grody. A Duke professor and dear friend of the Duke Athletics Department, Grody works hard to get Duke students CPR certified after his life was saved by a pair of Duke students a couple of years ago. Read how those students impacted Grody here.

Duke is back in action at Koskinen Stadium Friday, Oct. 14. It's rivalry week as the Blue Devils welcome the Tar Heels at 7 p.m., on ACC Network Extra.
