DURHAM – Fresh off a pair of individual titles at the Battle of The Citadel, the Duke wrestling program is set for another fall invitational, as the Blue Devils travel to Boone, N.C., and Appalachian State for the Mountaineer Invitational on Sunday.

Matches will begin at 9 a.m., with the Blue Devils competing alongside the tournament hosts Appalachian State, as well as No. 3 Arizona State, No. 22 Illinois, Air Force, Gardner-Webb, Indiana and Kent State. Results will be available via FloArena.

Josh Finesilver and No. 8
Matt Finesilver each earned tournament titles at the Battle at The Citadel on Nov. 6, to pace the Blue Devils to a third-place finish as a team.

Both brothers went 4-0 on the day as top seeds, with
Matt Finesilver, dropping only four points the entire event. Matt took home the title in the 174-pound bracket, sealing the victory with a 6-0 decision over Air Force's Sam Wolf.

Josh Finesilver won his first event of the season in the 149 pound-bracket, winning two matches by fall along the way. Finesilver would go on to also beat an Air Force wrestler, downing Dylan Martinez in an 11-8 decision.

Sophomore
Logan Agin also shined in Charleston, earning a third-place finish in the 125-pound bracket. Agin earned two wins on the day, with one coming via fall in the quarterfinal and another via technical fall in the third-place match. Junior

Kaden Russell (197 pounds) took home fourth place in their respective brackets.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR
- Both Finesilver brothers carry national rankings via InterMat, with Matt checking in at No. 8 in the nation at 174 pounds and Josh at No. 12 in the 149-pound weight class.
- Josh Finesilver returns to the Mountaineer Invitational after winning the 149-pound open division back in 2019.
- Two other wrestlers took home second-place finishes in the same event in 2019. Redshirt sophomore Drake Doolittle took second in the 125-pound division and Bryson Neace finished second in the 141-pound bracket.
- The event will serve as the final tune-up before dual matches begin at the Boilermaker Duals on Nov. 21.
- The Blue Devils will meet Appalachian State and Gardner-Webb in previews of dual matches later in the season. The Blue Devils will host Appalachian State on Jan. 13, while traveling to Gardner-Webb on Feb. 9.
