NEED TO KNOW
• Second-seeded Duke will open the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 12 as the second-seeded Blue Devils (12-4-3) will host Radford (12-3-4) at 7 p.m., at Koskinen Stadium.
• Saturday's match will be aired live on ACC Network Extra with Jake Levy on the call.
• Duke is making its 28th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and enter as a top-16 national seed for the seventh time out of the last eight seasons.
• It marks the first time in school history Duke has earned a No. 2 seed, after receiving a No. 1 seed three times and No. 3 seed on five occasions.
• The Blue Devils will return home after playing five out of the last six matches on the road. Duke owns a 6-3 ledger in Koskinen Stadium this season.
• In NCAA Tournament matches being played in Durham, N.C., the Blue Devils boast a 25-3-1 record. Duke has won 11 straight opening NCAA matches played in Durham, N.C.
• In the latest NCAA RPI, Duke is seventh with its four losses coming to No. 1 Florida State, No. 3 UCLA, No. 5 North Carolina, No. 10 Virginia. The Blue Devils' schedule is currently ranked the toughest nationally.
• In 36 matches played at Duke,
Michelle Cooper has tallied at least a goal or assist in 26 of those contests.
STORYLINES/OTHER BLUE DEVIL NOTES
• Duke is 19-3-5 all-time in its opening match of the NCAA Championship, including a 14-1-4 mark in the first round since the tournament expanded to its current 64-team format in 2001.
• The winner of Saturday's first round match will face the winner of the Texas/Texas A&M contest on Friday, Nov. 18.
• Duke features a 42-22-11 overall record in 27 appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
• The Blue Devils have won seven straight opening matches in the NCAA Tournament and has not dropped a match in the opening round since 2009 on the road.
• A total of 13 teams that made the 2022 NCAA Tournament feature sister tandems -- Arkansas, Buffalo, California, Clemson, Duke, Harvard, Lamar, North Carolina, NC State, Santa Clara, Stanford, UC Irvine and Vanderbilt. Duke's Jenna and

THE SERIES WITH RADFORD
• Duke and Radford will meet for the fifth time in school history and the third in NCAA Tournament action. The previous two contests came in the 2008 and 2011 NCAA Tournaments with Duke coming away with 5-1 and 5-0 wins, respectively.
• Overall, the Blue Devils hold a 4-0 ledger against Radford.

SCOUTING THE HIGHLANDERS
• Radford received its ninth NCAA Tournament selection, after securing its eighth Big South Tournament title on Nov. 6 with a 3-0 victory over Gardner-Webb.
• The Highlanders posted a 12-3-4 overall record in 2022, while collecting a 6-2-1 Big South ledger.
• Radford has been led by Kat Parris (8 goals, 4 assists), Amy Swain (6 goals, 5 assists) and Alexeis Kirnos (6 goals, 4 assists).
• Ben Sohrabi is in his 27th season with the Highlanders.
DUKE VS. THE BIG SOUTH
• Duke owns a 14-0 ledger against teams from the Big South -- Campbell (5-0), Radford (4-0), Gardner-Webb (2-0) and High Point (3-0).

NCAA EXPERIENCE
• Duke features a squad that has three graduate students along with six seniors who have played in numerous NCAA Tournament contests.
• The Blue Devils have advanced to back-to-back NCAA Elite Eights, the second round in 2019 and round of 16 in 2018.

Delaney Graham and
Mackenzie Pluck have both played in 12 NCAA Tournament matches and combined to play 1,660 minutes.
Jenna Royson played in 10 matches and helped Georgetown collect four shutouts in NCAA play over the previous four seasons. She helped lead Georgetown to the NCAA College Cup as a freshman in 2018.

Ruthie Jones has appeared in eight matches in the NCAA Tournament for the Blue Devils in goal and helped Duke to five shutouts over the last three years. She has allowed only four goals in eight matches and owns a .55 goals-against average with four shutouts.

LAST TIME OUT
• Duke and North Carolina played 110 minutes of scoreless soccer on Nov. 3 in the semifinals of the ACC Championship. UNC went on to advance, 7-6, in penalty kicks.

Ruthie Jones collected a career-high 10 saves, including a key save on the fifth Tar Heel penalty kick to send the match into extra kicks.

Maggie Graham received a red card at the 44:44 mark and the Blue Devils were forced to play a player down for nearly 28 minutes until UNC was awarded a yellow card at the 72:36 mark. Graham will miss Friday's NCAA first round contest.
• Prior to the red card by Duke, UNC held a 5-2 advantage in shots. The Tar Heels held a 10-1 shot edge during the player advantage.
PLAYING AT HOME IN NCAAS
• Duke will look to capitalize on one of the best home-field advantages in the nation provided by Koskinen Stadium on Saturday.
• The Blue Devils boast a 54-10-7 record at the venue since the start of the 2017 campaign.
• Duke has outscored its opponents 18-8 at home this season, including only allowing two goals over the last five matches.
• Duke is 25-3-1 in NCAA Championship matches played in Durham.
10/10 MILESTONE
• At Virginia,
Michelle Cooper notched her 10th assist of the season to become the third Blue Devil to notch 10 or more goals and assists in a season -- Imani Dorsey (2017), Laura Weinberg (2012). Cooper currently owns 13 goals and 10 assists.
• Cooper is one of only two players in the NCAA Division I to have 10 or more goals and assists in 2022 (Brecken Mozingo of BYU - 11 goals, 10 assists). Both are in the NCAA Tournament.
